Mata Sharada Nilaya

Mata Sharada Nilaya is a repository of various artefacts and rare belongings of various Swamis of Guru Parampara (Pontical Lineage) of Shree Kashi Matha Samsthan, Varanasi. It is situated on the fourth floor of magnificent and gigantic structure of Dahisar Sri Kashi Math and Sri Vittal Rakhumai Mandir, Sudhindra Nagar Dahisar (E) Mumbai, Maharashtra State, India. Mata Sharada Nilaya is a long cherished dream of His Holiness Shrimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swami. It houses the objects santified by their association with Shree Kashi Math and the Gurus of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan over a long period of time. The idea of this Nilaya is to preserve all the objects and artefacts numbering more than 600 for posterity and also to enable the devotees to identify themselves with the history of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan. Shree Kashi Math Samsthan is a religious order of the Gowd Saraswat Brahmans of Vaishnava Sampradaya (tradition and legacy). It has a long history going back to nearly five hundred years. Shree Kashi Math Samsthan has moulded the course of history of the Gowd Saraswat Brahmans and has provided unity and unique identity of its own to the Community. The objects and artefacts on display are mostly associated with various rituals performed by Swamis of the Math.

They are not just antiquities; they are articles of faith and devotion. Even a cursory look at the collection gives us an idea of the great tradition carried forward by the Gurus of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan. The Nilaya has been inaugurated and declared open to the public by His Holiness Shrimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swami, the then Mathadhipati of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan, Varanasi along with Shrimad Samyamindra Tirtha Swami, the present Mathadhipati of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan, Varanasi on Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada, Nandana Samvatsara, of Shalivahana Saka 1934, Friday, the 23rd March 2012.
